Learning Disorders, post-concussion syndrome, and non-seizure epileptic discharges may be worsened by ADHD meds…and improved by EEG neurofeedback.

Can EEG Tell If Telekinesis Is A Magician’s Trick?
Can objects be moved by thought alone? A dubious notion, eh? So when the History Channel asked me to look at the brain waves of “a mentalist” I didn’t have much interest. Back when I was in psychiatric training Uri Geller was at the Stanford Research Institute demonstrating New Physics and mind-over-matter with mental spoon-bending. […]

More on Electro-Magnetic Radiation and Cell Phones
Below I have posted a round up of stories on the recent news from WHO on the increased risk of gliomas tied to heavy cell phone use. This issue is obviously still completely unsettled. As I have written before, I have no doubt about the effect of low energy electro-magnetic (E-M) radiation on the human […]
EEGym® adds QEEG Services
The QEEG (quantitative EEG, a map of brain electrical patterns referenced to normative databases) issue is major in neurofeedback circles. Most of us old-timers don’t really see a need for QEEG in determining protocols–it is definitely not necessary for the three most often used systems in at EEGym. But I’ve come around to see its tremendous value diagnostically; sometimes it can tell us what is wrong with the patient with dramatic clarity, whether it is old head injury, sleep disorder, ADHD, headache, or generalized memory problems.
Neurofeedback for Post-Deployment Soldiers
Here is an impressive video from Michael Villanova PhD via Homecoming4Vets and YouTube. Six minutes of first-hand experience from multi-concussed vet. Powerful video shows results of Neurofeedback for Vets
Breaking News: Cell Phone Radiation Affects Brain Function
Using your cell phone more than 50 minutes daily can affect the normal functioning of the human brain. The study, out tomorrow in JAMA, also provides another important, although indirect, confirmation of the power of LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) EEG neurofeedack. As noted in the following story, the new finding upsets the current orthodoxy […]
Bipolar Disorder: Sleep & Carbohydrate Control
Attention to sleep and carbohydrate management are two natural and important factors important in the recovery of Bipolar Mood Disorder. SLEEP. Restorative sleep is important for everyone. It is critically important in mood disorders and is close to the root of bipolar disorder, which is a disturbance in natural circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are the […]

ADHD and Executive Function Difficulties
When patients and I talk about ADHD as a “hidden disability,” we are not just talking about simple difficulties with attention or so-called “hyperactivity.” For nearly a decade, professionals in the field recognize that the real disabling features of ADHD are in the broad arena of EXECUTIVE FUNCTION. Several areas are commonly described. Thomas Brown, […]
